Dear participant,
Thank you for your interest in taking part in the North-East Scotland Energy Monitoring Project.
What is the purpose of this short questionnaire?
This questionnaire asks you a few questions about yourself to allow us to determine whether or not you are eligible to take part in the study.
What are the possible risks in filling in this questionnaire?
The answers to this questionnaire will be used only to determine whether or not you are eligible to take part in the study. If you wish to take part, you will need to provide your home contact details and email address. This information will be held in a secure database, and only the researchers working on the project will ever have access to this file. No information that you give in this, or any future part of this research project will allow you to be identified either in person or by postal address by anyone apart from the research team.
At this point, you are not 'signing up' for the research project - more detailed information will be provided after this stage before you actually become a research participant. This questionnaire is intended only to assess eligibility to take part.
What if I decide I don't want to take part anymore?
You can withdraw from this questionnaire at any point. We have provided an 'Exit and clear survey' button at the bottom of the page, so if you decide that you would like to withdraw from the study, press this button, and all of your responses will be cleared.
Who do I contact if there is a problem?
If you have any questions or comments regarding this questionnaire, or the research project more generally, please email: t.craig@macaulay.ac.uk
Who is organising and funding the research?
The North-East Scotland Energy Monitoring Project is part of a larger project funded by the Scottish Government's Rural and Environment Research and Analysis Directorate called "Developing an understanding of the psychological antecedents to household environmental behaviours that impact on climate change" The purpose of the project as a whole is to understand how psychological factors (e.g. attitudes, habits, emotions) link to household behaviours relevant to climate change occurring.
We would like to thank you very much for considering completing this questionnaire.
